Diabetes

Diabetes
Diabetes is a highly prevalent disease in the world which affects approximately 415 million people. Depending upon the type of diabetes, reduced insulin production by cells in the pancreas can contribute to higher blood sugar levels.

Stem cells that can differentiate into insulin-producing cells may help to alleviate this problem. Several studies on autologous Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentration (BMAC) suggest stem cell and regenerative medicine treatments can be effective for diabetes management, including research at Georgetown University (Cheng, 2016). Physicians at Cedar Stem Cell Institute have recently performed iv autologous BMAC for patients with difficult to control diabetes.
