Remi Nader, MD, FAANS
Dr. Remi Nader brings to the service of his patients his expertise and state-of-the-art technology to help him reach a diagnoses. This allows him to detect the precise location of the pain, to reduce the scale his procedures and to minimize the post-operative pain and the time of recovery.
Dr. Nader completed his medical studies at McGill University in Montreal. He later pursued a general surgery internship in Texas at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He then did his residency training in neurosurgery at University of Texas Medical Branch. Additionally, he completed a sub-specialization in skull base surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He also underwent 18 months of training in neurosurgical Oncology at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas during his residency. During the past few years, he participated in several internships and courses in minimally invasive spinal surgery, stem cell and platelet rich plasma procedures.
As an affiliate and member of the Faculty of the University of Texas Medical Branch and Tulane University, Dr. Nader trains residents in neurosurgery. Dr. Nader is also a national science advisor for technology companies in spinal and pain conditions and has been called upon as an expert consultant neurosurgeon for various media outlets, such as television channel ABC and FOX news.
Recently, Dr. Nader has developed interest and expertise on the application of adult stem cells in the musculeskeletal and nervous system and has been trained by the regenerative medicine training institute for fat and bone marrow stem cell harvesting and injections. In addition to caring for his patients, Dr. Nader is involved in research. He was the first surgeon in the State of Mississippi to perform a spinal fusion using autologous stem cells. While in residency and later in practice, he published many books on spinal disease and brain tumors. He presented these topics at numerous conferences in neurosurgery at national and international levels. He has published more than 100 articles and book chapters in neurosurgery as well as eight textbooks in the field which are widely used by the medical community.
